Chapter 5: Attack on the train

Back with the gang, Tony, Waffle, Mr Scatterbrain and Mr. Tickle were walking by the side of the train but stopped because Tony spotted one of the shadowed figures sneaking up behind Mr. Grumpy!

"LOOK OUT!!!" he shouted

"Tony!!!" Sara demanded "Mr. Scatterbrain!  Waffle! Mr. Tickle! What are guys doing here?

"Never mind us, what about them?" Mr. Tickle said pointing at the roof of the train.

Sara turned to where the orange Mr. Men was pointing, spotted the shadowed figure and gasped "Mr. Grumpy, behind you!"

Mr. Grumpy turned around in time to see the shadowed figure about to jump him. At the same time, another figure shouted "ATTACK!" then swung on a rope from the giant Milkshake.

"Duck, Mr Grumpy!" Dana said

The blue Mr Men did as instructed and just in time for both figures crashed into each other. To everyone's shock the shadowed figures were revealed to be live toys the size of humans.

"Huh? They're toys!" gasped Mac.

"ATTACK!!! ATTACK!!!!" exclaimed one of them.

At this command, more toys and gingerbread men began to charge at the gang. Some came out from the windows others from the entrance of the abandoned train station.

"Take cover!" shouted Zaira from inside the train.

A giant jack in the box began to chase Sara. She screams as it corners her to the side of the train. Luckily, Delete heard her and decided to come to her aid.

"I'll save you, Sara!" he cried as he climbed out the trains window to reach her but then clumsily falls out landing on the Jack in the Box.

Mr. Grumpy was running from one of the gingerbread men then he jumped to where the stock of coal was. He then gets an idea, smirking he picks up the shovel and throws it to the gingerbread man. "Here take this!"  

The Gingerbread man stared at the shovel in his hands then at Mr. Grumpy.

"Now, Take this!" he shoots some magic at the gingerbread man, who lands on a small patch of cotton candy.  

"I guess those Defense against the dark arts lessons finally paid off." he says to himself.

Tony, Waffle, Mr. Tickle and Mr. Scatterbrain were spotted by two clown dolls and were about to be caught.

"Got anything to stop them?" Tony asked

"I do!" Mr. Scatterbrain said "I got a Tambourine! a toaster!" he throws the objects at the toy clowns before stopping to notice he has a toothbrush. "Oh goody I thought I forgot to pack one."

"Oh, these guys really need some tickles!" Mr. Tickle said as he extend his arms to their oppressors that stopped them good.

Beth, Kylie and Zaira kept another group of toys at bay from getting close to Dana, Mac and Bloo.

Wilt, meanwhile, managed to make two toys crash into each other as he jumped out of the way.

"CHARGE!!!!" Bellowed one that a toy cowboy as the group of toys charged once again only to be blocked by the power puff girls and Eduardo, who roared at them. No one was attacking any of their friends while they're around.

"RUNAWAY!!!"

"Oh no, you don't!" snapped Buttercup as she, and her sisters flew after them.  

"Hold on amigos, we save you from the mean meanies!" shouted Eduardo following the girls.

The whole mass of toys and gingerbread men retreated back into the abandoned train station, Bubbles managed to grab one young gingerbread boy.

"Oh no, don't hurt him! Can't you see he's already hurt enough?" exclaimed a Mr. Potato head doll.

"We're not going to hurt anybody," Blossom said as she motioned for Bubbles to put down the gingerbread boy.

"But you es the ones attacking us!" Eduardo said accusingly

The rest the gang came up from behind and nodded while glaring. What was the big idea of these toys attacking them?

"We weren't attacking you, we just wanted your train." explained the cowboy named Woody

"There's a difference?" demanded a glaring Beth.

"Well no, but if you were smart you'd do what my friends and I are trying to do get out of the Land of Dolls."

"But we're here to save The Land of Dolls," said Delete

"It's true," said Digit coming up with Buzz, Mr. Small and Mr. Nosey  "And we're not leaving until we do."

"Save it?" scoffed Mr Potato head "We tried to save the land of dolls and look what happened to us" he motioned the group of toys who looked injured with casts and bandages on them.

"Oh, my goodness what happened?" asked Kylie "Who did this to you?"

"It's a long story," said a little Bo Peep doll.

"Well we have, all the time we need." said Zaira wisely

A bit later nearby behind the side of the train, the Order and the toys had set a campfire, where they can peacefully listen to the toys' tale.

"I'll never forget that day, the day when HIM and the army of rats overthrew the Prince of the land of Dolls and took control over the castle." said Woody wistfully.

In a flashback, we see Him and his minions attacking Toyland.

"What happened to the prince?" asked Dana in curiosity

"No one knows for sure, some say he was killed in a big fight with the evil avatar, others say that HIM imprisoned the prince in far off land,"   

In one still shot, the faceless figure was killed by Him. In another still shot, the prince was in a tower prison.

"But whatever happened Him never got the prince's ring."

Another scene then showed the faceless prince removing the ring.
   
"A ring????" questioned Bloo

"The prince's ring is very powerful, whoever has it, has complete control over The Land of Dolls. If Him had gotten the ring there wouldn't be any chance of beating him,"

Him neared the prince, but he ran and gave it to Tinkerbell. The prince was grabbed while the fairy flew quickly with the ring.

"But the neverland fairy, Tinkerbell who had kept the land of dolls beautiful up til then managed to hide the ring from Him."

He growled in anger as he glared at where the fairy once was. The next scene showed the toys being grabbed by the rats with Dr. Eggman watching. Buildings were burning down as they gathered all the toys they could find. All while being chained up against their will.

"Him was furious, he had his henchmen the Rat king, Dr. Eggman enslave all the toys in the land of dolls. The rats were merciless, they burned our homes and chained us up, making us prisoners in our own land. Robotnik then forced all the toys to look high and low, in every nook and cranny for the prince's ring."

The next scene showed the toys being forced to work for the foes with the king watching. Then showed the toys that were with Woody sneaking by the sleeping rodents.

"My Friends and I would still be looking for the ring if we didn't escape from the rats. Then we saw your train and you know the rest."

The Flashback ends with the gang still sitting near the fire.

"So did Him ever get the Prince's ring?" Sara asked

"No, wherever Tinkerbell hid the ring," Digit shook his head beaming "It stayed hidden."

"And as long as it's hidden, he'll never find it." Added Woody

"Tinkerbell?" said Delete looking thoughtful, "I remember her, now!"
  
The gang looked at their droid friend, "What happened to her?" Delete asked   

"She was captured by Him and imprisoned in the castle," replied Woody sadly.

"Well, let's get going! We've got to rescue Tinkerbell and get that ring back! It's the only way to save the Land of Dolls!" said Delete as he stood up.

"Are you kidding? The castle is surrounded by an army of rats, you'll never get in." said Mr. Potato Head.

"When there's a will there's always a way! Right Order of the lion?"

"Right!" The Gang replied.

"Then just follow me!" But as he said this, he tripped falling on his face causing the whole group of toys minus (Digit and Buzz) to laugh at him

"Some Leader," Mr. Potato Head laughed "he can't even stand on his own two feet!"

Delete started to get up but only to slip on a broken piece of Candy cane, causing the toys to laugh even harder.

This hurt the droid's feelings as tears began brimming in his eyes, he walked away in shame.

"Delete! Wait!" Sara called out as she got up from her place to run after him.

The toys continued to laugh until Beth viciously cleared her throat. They ceased their mirth to see, Beth, the three PPG, Buzz and the rest of the gang glaring at them.     

"You ought to be ashamed of yourselves!" Kylie said sternly

"Yeah, some friends you turned out to be!" Blossom snapped

"I can't believe, you would do that." Digit scolded

"You es muy meanos!" said Eduardo

"I'm sorry! NO! I'm not Sorry! It's not right to laugh at someone's mishaps!" Wilt said

"Dee-Dee tried to save all of our homes and you just laughed at him!" growled Buzz

"If you ask me you're no better than Him or Robotnik put together!" snarled Buttercup

"That should tell you that you will never get your home back! Especially since you laughed at him!" screamed a steaming Beth.

The other toys looked down on what they said.

Mr. Tickle said to the toys before grinning while extending his arms. "You are being mean. How about a tickle?"

But Grumpy snapped to him "Not Now!"

The droid, meanwhile, was near the caboose.

"Wait Delete," Sara said finally catching up to him. "They didn't mean it."

Delete sighed "But Sara maybe Mr. Potato is right, maybe saving The Land of Dolls is impossible."

Sara shook her head, "No, it's not, with your help we can do it. You've got to believe that."

"With my help?" he frowned as he sat on the back car steps "What good is a piece of teal metal that can't remember it's own real name compared to a powerful advocate of evil?"

"Maybe not much on his own," Sara said "But with all his friends behind him anything is possible."

"You really think so?" he asked beaming

"I know so…" Mr. Potato said coming up looking ashamed "I'm sorry, If I laughed at you Delete, Friends should never laugh at friends,"

"Friends?" He extends his hand.  

"Sure," he said taking his hand. "Well what are we all standing around for we got a Neverland fairy to rescue,"

The Order of the Lion and the Toys cheered as Sara hugged the toys.

Next day the train was back on the tracks on its way to the destination, faster than before. The gang thankfully had Buzz and Digit to join them on their journey to castle of the land of dolls.

"At this rate, we'll make to the castle in no time!" said Bloo at the engineer's seat

"I'll say," said Mac and Wilt as they shoveled the coal into the furnace engine which made the train go faster.

However ahead of them on a cliff, Dr. Eggman, Scratch and Grounder were watching them arrive  

"Here comes the train," Dr. Eggman said watching through the binoculars, "And there's the droid!"

"And right there is the licorice bridge," he explained to his two robot henchmen "Scratch, Grounder, go over to the bridge and cut the supports, I don't want that train to get across that bridge."

"OK boss," the two bots rushed off in the direction of the bridge while the rat king turned to one side where a large horde of rats on pogo sticks awaited orders.

"The rest of you follow me!"

The rats obliged as they followed their king in the direction of the train.

Back in the train, in the caboose, Tony seemed excited about the whole idea,   

"I can't wait to get to the castle!" he said "I'll show that two-faced creep a thing or two!"

While in the front, where everyone else is.

"Anyone got a radio on them?" asked Mr. Nosey

"Sure right here!" said Digit, as he opened his compartment pulling out  a radio.

"I think this calls for a little music!" said Mr. Small as he hopped, over to turn on the radio.

"NO, it does not!" argued Mr Grumpy.

But neither Mr. Small or Digit heard him as they turned on the radio to listen for fun, after all it was going to be a while till they reach the castle. Unfortunately Mr Grumpy didn't think so,  he clamped his hands where his ears would be. He was hoping that the rest of the ride would be tranquil without anything disturbing the peace and quiet.

Radio with (Mr. Bump's voice):
Don't be a grumpy
And move
To the groove!

All minus (Mr. Grumpy): The beat is hot!
And this is the spot!
Come on
and get down
to the Dillydale
dance floor!

Mr. Grumpy in annoyance presses a button which switches to the Song Rock those bones, sung by Miss Scary. However that didn't stop the group from singing along with the song.

Radio: Dinosaurs on the loose

All minus (Mr. Grumpy): You better rock those bones
Rock those bones

Mr. Grumpy yet again presses another button but another song plays much to his annoyance.

High in the sky

All minus (Mr. Grumpy): There's nothing stopping you
as long as you try

Reach High
As high as the sky
And DREAM!!!


"That's it!" Mr Grumpy said annoyed getting up from his seat, while turning the radio off  "I'm going to another car on the train, where I can have some peace and quiet and get away from you Dodo birds!"

However as he said this the train suddenly stopped, "Now what?"

"Wait here, I'll go check it out." Beth said as she stepped out to head to the engineer car.

"How come I always miss the fun?" Tony asked

"Maybe you need a tickle!" Mr Tickle said as he tickled Tony, who giggled begging him to stop.

Back with Beth, she had already climbed onto the locomotive, walked over to her friends, who were driving the train.

"Mac, Bloo, Wilt, what's going on?" Beth asked  

"Look up ahead," Mac said pointing "There's some Candy canes blocking the tracks."

"How in the world did they get there?" Wilt wondered

Their questions are answered when a familiar Rat King appeared, bellowing, "ATTACK! GRAB DELETE THE DROID!!!"  

The rats charged on their pogo sticks towards the train.

"Does that answer your question!?" Bloo cried out

"Let's move guys!" Beth said

Mac obliged pulling on a lever which made the train go backwards, but that didn't stop the rats from giving chase.

"Mac! You're going the wrong way! What are you doing?" Beth hollered as the train was moving.

"I'm going to need a lot of room to reach ramming speed, Beth," Mac explained  "More on the steam Wilt!"

Wilt immediately began to shovel as many coal in the engine as possible, in order for the train to go faster, however when the train had began to go backwards the rats had caught up and were swarming the train.

"Alright!" complained Mr. Grumpy, still annoyed by the music, "Backwards or not there is no way, I'm spending another second in this car, listening to that racket!"

Dana, who was looking out the window turned around, "Uh Mr. Grumpy, I don't it's a good idea there's-

But before Dana could warn him, Mr. Grumpy had opened the door, to go over to the next car as planned but when he notices the rat army, he slams the door shut again in fright.

"Crooked cucumbers!!! RATS!!!"

One group of rats were attacking the car, Sara and Delete were on, they managed to hold off the ones that were on the roof but one managed to grab Delete by the legs and was trying to pull him out the window.    

"NO!" Sara cried as she grabbed onto Delete's arms pulling.

"Let me go! You cheese eaters!!" he screamed

Three more than began to pull helping the first rat, after all orders were to take the droid to the boss.

"Help him! Help him!" cried Kylie as she and Buzz, Mr. Nosey, and Mr. Small helped Sara to pull Delete away from the rats.  

"DROP HIM!" Bubbles shrieked as she zapped heat vision at the rats forcing them to let go. While Sara with her friends pulled the Droid back through the window.

"Good shot, Bubbles!" Her sisters praised her.

Eduardo was fighting off as many rats off the train, Bloo had resorted in throwing stuff at them (like when they began throwing the bricks at the cops in World's turf). While Beth, Zaira, Kylie and Dana shot their magic at them, Digit managed to get rid of some by having them crash into a tree branch while he ducked.

"How are we going to shake all these rats? there's too many of them!" Beth screamed

But Mac was ready he simply hit the brakes causing the train to stop with the rats falling off the back car. The train continued it's way as it started going at fast speed which Dr. Eggman had to runaway from since he was on the tracks.

Then, the pogo stick landed on the engine's snow plow and he went high into the air. The train broke the candy canes and went right on through.

Dr. Eggman was in the air as he dropped the pogo stick and noticed. "Hey! I can see Him's castle from here."

He then looked down and screamed, starting to fall.

Some of the rats refused to give up as they started swarming the back car, Tony slammed the back door shut, Mr. Tickle simply smirked as he tickled some off the sides.

Things were going from bad to worse as the hinges connecting the train with the back car were loosening, about to detach the cars.

Zaira notices this and screams "Tony, Waffle, Mr. Tickle Mr. Scatterbrain! Get out of the caboose!"

The rats finally break down the door which Tony, Waffle, Mr. Tickle and Mr Scatterbrain had to bolt but Dr. Eggman crashes through the roof and blocks the trio's path.

"Hey you leave them alone!" yelled Zaira

"Oh Yeah," Dr Eggman taunted as he folded his arms

Before could snaps back the hinges break loose wobbling the car, which Dr Eggman falls and holds onto the hinges.

"Tony, give me your hand!" Zaira urges her friend. Tony tries to reach out while Waffle, Mr Tickle, Mr Scatterbrain hold him from falling.

The train was going very fast almost reaching the licorice bridge which Scratch and Grounder were already at work to tear it down by simply biting the supports.

"Hurry we're almost at the bridge!" Zaira cries

However at hearing the word bridge Dr. Eggman let's go in fear, knowing what will happen if holds on any longer.

Thus separating the cars, with the caboose slowing down, giving the other rats a chance to grab Tony, Waffle, Mr. Tickle and Mr. Scatterbrain, much to Zaira's horror.

"Tony! Waffle! Mr. Tickle! Mr. Scatterbrain!" screamed Zaira in dismay

The train was lucky it was speeding fast for the minute they sped fast it, the bridge had already fallen. The back however was already heading towards the cliff where the bridge once stood, Dr. Eggman in panic pulls onto the brakes stopping the car in time.

The minute the car had stopped it propelled him off the car which he clings onto a piece of the bridge, the other rats hop off with their prisoners, Tony was struggling, Waffle was held roughly by the back of his neck, but in the Mr. men's case: the rats had tied Mr. Tickle's arms in a big knot while Mr. Scatterbrain simply smiled as if enjoying the situation.

Now of course, the guardians or the PPG's would've flown to their aid, but they were already far away on the speeding car, that they noticed too late and even they had gone back they would've already be gone or setting a trap all of them.    

Scratch and Grounder look over the cliff and watch in amusement at their boss.

"Look at the boss Grounder, he's fooling around." chuckled Scratch

"Yeah, he really loves his work" agreed Grounder

"Help me!" bellowed Dr. Eggman while hanging on.

Watching from a television screen, a familiar entity wasn't happy of the outcome of the plan.

"Can't you rodents do anything right?!" snapped Him as he watched the whole thing. "I sent you to capture that droid and what do you do?! He escapes yet again."

Tinkerbell, on the other hand, was happy that her friend had escaped from Him's clutches once again.

"But no matter, I have another way of getting the ring," he says as he looks at Tinkerbell, who glares back.

"And I'm sure the droid and his friends will find it most frightening," laughed evilly

The fairy became a bit more worried than before, growing worried with concern.
